COGENT Energy (CNERGY) is the business segment of Clark Electric Distribution Corporation (CEDC) being the Local Retail Electricity Supplier (LRES) pursuant to Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA). COGENT Energy was established in order for CEDC to continue its commitment in serving the locators of Clark Special Economic Zone. It aims to help the locators inside CSEZ in saving their electricity bill particularly on its generation charge.
The establishment of Cogent Energy (CEDC LOCAL RES), CEDC pooled its most competent and experienced personnel and began the preparations to engage in the power retail supply business. It engaged the best system service providers, acquired the best power supply/demand and market forecasting tools, and contracted with multiple power suppliers.
The challenges facing contestable customers in contracting their energy requirements themselves under RCOA can sometimes be overwhelming. Cogent Energy aims to make the transition from a captive to a competitive market as seamless as possible for customers, understanding fully well that they should focused on running their businesses instead of spending time managing their energy requirements.
